Photosynthesis can also defined as the process in which light energy is converted into chemical energy.

Explanation:

The process of photosynthesis begins when green plants come in expoaure to sunlight. Green plants consist of a green pigment called chlorophyll which traps the sunglight and convert water (H2O)  and carbon dioxide (CO2) into glucose and oxygen, an important by-product of photosynthesis.

 Chemical equation for photosynthesis:

 6CO2 + 6H2O + Light energy -------> C6H12O6 (sugar) + 6O2
