Heya..Here is the answer--

The walls of the stomach are lined with a membrane called mucosa. The mucosa secretes mucus, which protects the inner lining of the stomach. Mucus plays an important role in keeping our stomach and some other important digestive organs healthy.

Mucus is on the interior of stomach. Mucus allows easy sliding of food during digestion. Importantly mucus protect the organ from harmful and strong acids. These acids digest the food by breaking proteins. If they get in touch with sensitive part of our body, it is destroyed.
