What is the role of NaCN in froth floatation

hii..

NaCN is used as depressant in froth flotation process..

As a depressant,NaCN separates two sulphide ores(ZnS,PbS)

allows PbS to form froth preventing ZnS to form froth...

Hey !

NaCN acts as the depressant. It selectively prevents ZnS from coming to the froth but allows PbS to come with the froth.
