nitrogen fixing bacteria are present in the soil which gives growth to plants.The nitrogen is present in the atmosphere in abundous form but plants cannot take this directly. so certain bacteria are present in soil which convert nitrogen into usable form and absorbs this.

Nitrogen fixing bacteria name is risobium . They are mainly found in the roots of the plant .plant cannot take atmospheric nitrogen directly so risobium convert the nitrogen that plant can use.
