1)they oppose the parties in power by voicing different views ,issues & critising govt. for its failures and wrong policies .

2)ensures political party in power does not misuse or abuse in power .

3) they expose the weakness of the ruling party .

4)they keep a close vigil on the bills and expenditures of the govt .

5)they also mobilise opposition to the govt .

1:opposition party play a major role in democracy it give pressure upon goverment to full fill his or her work which he or she promised during election it also gives the force upon goverment to face new challenges just like in flood , earthquake it also give pressure upon goverment to complete his work during his time
