What is the role of oral cavity in the digestion of food in human beings???

Explanation:

It helps in digestion in following ways :-

1)Physical breakdown of food by teeth .

2)Saliva is secreted through salivary glands which waters the food so that it can easily move through alimentary canal .

3)Saliva contains salivary amylase which helps in digestion of carbohydrates and converts starch into another substance like maltose , dextrin etc.
