when amoeba come in contact with the food particle it produces pseudopodia around the food. When the cell membranes of pseudipodia fuse the food gets trapped in a food vacuole. Digestive juices are poured into this vacuole to digest the food. The food is absorbed and used for the maintenance of the organism. The undigested food is eliminated from the body of Amoeba.
