Light enters the eye through thepupil, and the iris regulates the amount of light by controlling the size of the pupil. The iris contains two groups of smooth muscles; a circular group called the sphincter pupillae, and a radial group called the dilator pupillae.

pupil is a small opening at the centre of the iris.it appears black because any light falling on it goes into d eye and the amount of light entering the eye is controlled by changing the size of the pupil with d help of iris
