What is the role of reference point in motion?

We mesure the body is moving or not respect to reference point .

For example - we say, A train is moving .

Here , we take a tree which is outside of train as a refrence point.

role of reference point is that every motion is judged with respect to it. For eg. whenever we travel in a car then we can see trees and other things sprinting which indiacates that we are in motion but if the same thing is done in space where a refernece point is very very far away from us then we are not able to judge whether we are in motion or not.
