This was invented by G. E. Palade in 1955 by the help of an electron microscope. Nearly 80% of r - RNA is formed by ribosome and the diameter of it varies from 150Å - 250Å. Chemically it is composed of RNA and protein and its main function is to synthesize the protein, so it is also called the factory of protein.
