the role of a root of a plant is to absorb the plant nutrients in the soil which the plant is growing and the root will take the nutrients and also has a big role on nitrogen fixation which the symbiotic bacterias which are called rizobium which they convert the nitrogen(atmospheric) to nitrites and nitrates and the plant further converts the nitrites and nitrates to amonia and make starch out of it and store it an the leaves
