In a bid to spread awareness regarding safe driving and to provide safety advice to the public, the Regional Transport Office (RTO) in association with Ess Ell Honda group organised a Road Safety Awareness Drive at the RTO compound which was attended by more than 100 people.
Additional Regional Transport Office(ARTO) (Enforcement), RP Rathore informed that a free testing drive was also conducted for those who came for procuring driving license. This test drive was conducted using simulators.
A checking drive was also conducted at Subhash Road and about 35 challans were also imposed on public transport vehicle operators found violating traffic rules regarding overloading and a motor cycle was also seized when the rider failed to present valid documents.
The programme was organised as part of the ongoing Road Safety Week which began on January 11 and would last till January 17.Chief assistant at RTO, Krishna Kishore informed that large sections of people participated in the test drive.
Technical methods were adopted to guide people about the road safety on the occasion. A simulator was used to instruct people about all the basic driving and safety techniques, informed Sales Executive at Ess Ell Honda, Nitin Kumar. Considering the importance of road safety week, people were taught about various driving nuances including the right and safe way to ride, right manner of overtaking, proper use of brake, turning at safe speed, danger prediction, right use of headlight beams, distance to be kept while driving and other rules.
People were also guided about the road signs and markings used on roads. People were also taught about important road markings like a single white line mark on road which means separation of lanes where lane changing is discouraged, yellow dots on roads which signify overtaking from one side to the other permitted and yellow line mark on road which means overtaking prohibited, said Arvind Devrani of Honda.
ate faIJo oIJHzIJzte this, Rs 2.5 crore was withheld by the GoI. In the first installment, around Rs 9.84 crore was sanctioned by the Central Government, while Rs 6.15 crore was sanctioned in the second installment and Rs 2.5 crore was deducted from the first installment.
