There are many challeges faced by indian democracy. Sof them are as follows:

1.)Caste

Almost every party pitch their candidates based on their caste.Almost every policies, rules are made keeping votes in their mind.Communities are divided into sc ,st ,general, obcs.Almost all poltical activities revolves around this categories.Even they are broadly divided into hindus and muslims.Candidates are selected according to majority community.

2.)Identity

Not only in india but also in pakistan(tehrik-e-insaaf),USA (republican) people are voting according to their identity.Politics have suddenly changed to identity based politics of HINDUTVA.Now right wing parties are dominating all around the world.

3.)Paid media

Now a days only 2-4% journalists raises the questions of social, economic conditions. Most of them are busy in hindu -muslim politics and hate speeches. They usually tries to divert your attention from the main issues that our country is facing. A particular news channel praises ruling party because the boss of that party belongs to ruling party. The fourth piller of democracy media is being deteriorating day to day.Now the biggest question is who will raise the voice of people??Honest journalists gets life threaten calls from ruling party. If they have enough courage to face them they stayed or otherwise they were removed from that particular channel.

3.)Many MPs and MLAs are illiterate and do not have much knowledge about governance.

4.)About 60%of candidates are criminals and have high charges on them of rapes, murder. But paries usually focus onto their win rather then clean image of their candidates.

5.)Money andMuscle power is growing day to day.Recent example is of West Bengal. One who have more money and muscle power has more chances of winning.
