What is the role of stomata in functioning of a leaf?

stomata plays a vital role. plants breathe through a small pores present in the leaves known as stomata stomata open and close to take in carbon dioxide and expire oxygen. it helps in exchange of gases between the atmosphere and the plants it helps in photosynthesis

The oxygen and carbon dioxide are taken in through stomata. In this way it helpa in photosynthesis, helping the leaf to prepare it's food.

The excess water from plant is given off through stomata. Here it helps in process of transpiration and thus regulates the leaf and plant temperature.
