The acid present in our stomach is hydrochloric acid (HCL) . Most of the protein digestion occurs in stomach that is because protein digesting enzymes are present in stomach but in a inactive stage to covert that inactive enzymes into active enzymes it requires PH value of about 1.8 and that PH is provided by HCL as it is a stong acid
