What is the role of the brain in reflex action?

Our brain has no role in reflex actions. The signals go to our spinal cord and out again in nerves that control our muscles. This saves time and means that the muscle can be moved in 0.03 seconds, instead of 0.8 seconds, if our brain is involved.
