The police has a big role in this type of situation.

They arrest the criminals, report media on wht actually hppnd and detect. There are the first one to reach at that scene (that time no other officials reach). India has a kahavat- "Police hamesha crime scene par deri se aati hain!" but that's actually true and not true. It's not true because before any other official,polices reaches. It's TRUE because they are not on time.

Hence, Police detects and catches the criminals. And victim/victims gets justice at last.
