Answer: Role of Vast Army in expansion of Magadha empire played a major rule. During ancient time Kshatriya used to be courageous, brave but now a day every one does not live courageous life. So because the Army was brave and they used different tactics to win, they end up killing majority of army. Ashoka, the emperor was himself so brave that other people used to call them "Chandel Ashoka" which mean "gravedigger Ashoka" in Pali language because Ashoka never use to leave anyone alive on the battlefield except his own solider and due to his was of Kalinga also.
