Following is the role of weathering and erosion in creating different landforms on earth:

  • Weathering of solid rocks results in cracking and softning which ultimately becomes powder while erosion.
  • Erosion erodes or removes thin layers of dust from the loosen rocks.
  • Different eroding agents like water and wind carry the dust particles until the process of depositon occurs.
  • Finally deposition results in the formation of different landforms like plateau, hills, deserts etc.
  • The process is sharp and time taking.
