Velocity gradient= Velocity/ Distance

So..Unit of Velocity is m/s.And unit of distance is m.

Now, Unit of Velocity gradient =Unit of Velocity/Unit of distance

                                                    =m/s/m

                                                     =1/s

                                                     =s^-1

Therefore SI Unit of Velocity Gradient is S^-1.
