What is the sadness that the poet refers to in the poem ?

POEM :- KEEPING QUIET

Man is 'sad' because he has failed to understand his own actions. He is responsible for this state of his. The poet says, man due to his thinking and actions is threatening himself with death.

         When he realises this he becomes sad. He wishes that man learns to ''keep still'' as it will give him time for introspection.
