Typically, human females have two X chromosomes while males possess an XY pairing. This XY sex-determination system is found in most mammals as well as some reptiles and plants. ... If the sperm carries a Y chromosome, it will result in a male.

in humans, there are only one case that means haploid case. So, the sex differs by male which is having heterogametic that means XY chromosome but in the case of female which is homogametic that means XX chromosome. Usually in plants, there are many cases such as during fertilisation it may be haploid, diploid and polypoid might be it will divide into many no. of chromosomes.
