S.I unit of velocity (v) is m/s or metre per second.

Velocity - Velocity is a speed of any object when mentioned direction also. (direction is very important with any measure of speed to be called velocity)

velocity is a vector quantity. (Vector quantities are those when magnitude with direction is given like here in velocity. This kind of 2 dimensional info. is vector quantity.when there is no direction secified, it's called scalar quantity as in speed)
