Fire Line' on a topographical map means the indication of a clearing or a gap or an empty space that runs within a forest area.

It is often demarks a trench which is kept filled with water or sand.

This is done in order to stop the spread of fire in the forest, and on topographical maps the existence of these trenches are shown with the fire line. It is a global standard symbol.
