The significance of cell wall in plant cell :-
It gives a definite shape to the cell.
It provides rigidity and strenght to the cell.
It protects the inner cell organelles bounding the cell from outside.
It helps in transport of material across it.
Cell wall maintains the shape of the cell when cytoplasm shrinks away from the cell wall during plasmolysis.
It also withstand the osmotic pressure which is developed by cell contents.
