2. Trans - Indian ocean routes connect India with several European countries that provide a stratejic position to India.
3. The Deccan Peninsula join India with Asian countries like East Asia from Eastern Coast and West Asia from the Western Coast.
4. Also India has the longest coastline in the Indian Ocean as copared to any country and is eminient part of it.
5. These all justification justifies naming an ocean on country's name.
