what is the significance of leaching in the extraction of aluminium? please help

In the extraction of aluminium, the significance of leaching is to concentrate pure alumina (Al2O3) from bauxite ore. Bauxite usually contains silica, iron oxide, and titanium oxide as impurities.

Hey !!

Impurities like SiO₂ etc are removed by using NaOH solution and pure alumina is obtained . Bauxite ore contain SiO2 and aluminum can be extracted from bauxite.
