2nd battle of Panipat was fought in November 5th 1556 between teenage mughal ruler Jalalludin Muhammad Akbar (guided and mentored by Bairam khan :khanbaba who was a mughal army commander from Persia) and Samrat Hemchandra vikramaditya :Hemu.

Reasons for the battle

Samrat Hemchandra vikramaditya or Hemu was the last Hindu Samrat to conquer Delhi from mughals after defeating Tardi beg the mughal commander of Delhi in October 1556. He declared himself Samrat vikramaditya and had coins printed in his name.

Bairam khan wanted to reinstate Akbar and mughal flag in Delhi after the accidental death of Humayun in Delhi. Hemu was his greatest challenge.

This led to the famous 2nd battle of panipat ,basically it was battle for supremecy.
