The title is very significant. It is relevant to the matter of the text. The narrator is always confused and does a lot of blunders while travelling. It seems that he does not travel willingly and someone has forcebly or accidently put him on a trip tour. His absence of mind aptly wins him the title of 'The accidental Tourist'.

The title 'The Accidental Tourist' signifies the accidental nature of Bill Bryson who was a frequent flyer. He travelled a lot to all parts of the world. However, he always managed to cause some kind of an accident on the way in the aeroplane.
