Well,I did the course on Special Relativity during my course at High School Physics.

There they taught us the derivation for the formula of active energy of any particle considered object in the universe.

They showed us that the final expression after a lot of math was

E = mc^2 + 1/2mv^2 + 3/4mv^4 + 5/7 mv^6 + .....

So, pretty interesting and all but !

We don't actually consider the term mc^2 in normal daily life for out objects because special Relativity considers influence of the objects only moving at very high speeds considerable in respect to the God speed of light 。◕‿◕。.

So,

Significant use of Einstein presenting the formula E = mc^2 is just pretty good for experiments conducted for astrophysics or quantum mechanics where one has to Deal with objects moving at very high speeds.

However, in reality we all have that extra bit of energy mc^2 always there with us when we move.

The second hand of a working clock to our beating (moving) heart.
