what is the similarity of a 3/4 and 4/4 time signature
Answers
Answer:
As all time signatures, we can easily state that they have a downbeat and an upbeat.
However, 4/4 time indicates that 4 quarter notes can be played per measure, which 3/4 time says that we can play only 3 quarter notes per measure.
Although, in both time signatures, we are able to hold a half note and have a quarter note after it within the measure, just 4/4 will be able to hold another quarter not and 3/4 would have to tie it into the next measure. Both time signatures can hold at least 3 quarter notes, and they both can hold a dotted half note, along with any other note that can be held for in less than three beats (for example, a whole note you could not say they share in common since to you 4 beats in 3/4 time, you would have to tie the note, which does not count as a whole note).
I hope this helps. Let me know if you need anything else.
