Uterus is the site for implantation of embryo in female reproductive system.

Ovaries produces egg cells or ova. On reaching puberty , these eggs starts maturing and one egg is produced every month one by one of the ovaries.

Fallopian tube or Oviduct are the site of fertilisation of sperms.

⇒ The process of fusion of gametes ( male and female ) to give rise to a zygote is called fertilisation.

⇒ The various measures which are accepted by both male and female to prevent the birth of young ones are called contraceptive or birth control measures.

⇒ The need to use contraceptive are as follows :-

  • To limit the family size
  • To insert appropriate gap between the birth of two children in a family.
  • To have a control over increasing population.
