Social difference have two sources
By birth- we don't have control.
By choice- We are responsible for such differences.
Though much depends on perception of identity in exclusive terms or common terms..
Between the two main differences- overlapping and cross-cutting ..it is the overlapping differences that are responsible for division in a society.
