a) perimeter is sum of all the sides. Here u have given perimeter so add all the sides

(x+1)+(x+1)+(x+2)+(2x+2)+(x+2)= perimeter

x+x+x+2x+x+1+1+2+2+2= 77

6x+8=77

6x= 77-8

6x= 69

x=69/6

x= 11.5

b) perimeter of rectangle = 2(l+b)

186= 2(2x+66+5x+6)

186/2= 6x+ 72

93-72=6x

21=6x

21/6=x

3.5=x
