What is the solution of equation? y=-5x+3 y=1

Hi there !!

The solution of equation y=-5x+3 when y=1

y =  - 5(1) + 3 \\ y =  - 5 + 3 \\  y =  - 2

y= - 5x+3.......(1)

y=1.....(2)

Substituting equation (2) in (1)

y=-5*1+3

y=-5+3

y=-2
