x= -4, y= 1

Step-by-step explanation:

The equations can be solved as

2x+y=-7  .....................................(1)

-3x-2y=10 ..................................(2)

Lets multiply equation one with 2, we get

4x+2y = -14

Now add equation (2) into (1)

4x+2y = -14

-3x-2y= 10

we ,get

x = -4

now put value of x in equation (1)

y = 1

Answer: x=-4, y=1

Concept: This question is from the 'linear equations' topic. In this type of question, two equations of two variables are given, and we have to solve the equations and find the value of the variables.

Given: two linear equations

2x+y=-7

-3x-2y=10

To find: Solution of the equations i.e. value os 'x' & 'y'

Solution:

2x+y=-7                       ....................(1)

-3x-2y=10                  .....................(2)

multiply equation(1) by 2

4x+2y=-14                 ..................(1)

-3x-2y=10                ...................(2)

add the above equations (1) & (2)

4x+2y-3x-2y=-14+10

x=-4

by putting this value in first equation

2×-4+y=-7

-8+y=-7

y=1

Now we get the solution x=-4 & y=1

To check the answer we put both values in equation (1)

2×-4+1=-7

Hence the Solution to the question x=-4, y=1
