The
most common sound a snake makes is “hissing”. Snakes can also make a growling
sound when they confront their predators or warn them when they try to invade
their space. Apart from sounds, snakes also spit which is known to be done by
cobras. A Sonoran coral snake can also make a sound similar to a quacking duck.
This is done by ejecting air through the digestive tract. Scientists are still
confused about how they make these sounds. They are not quite sure if snakes
make sounds to be defensive against the predators or not.
