Generally panchayats are dependent on the government for funds, aids or loans. These are received through Block Samiti (also called Panchayat Samiti or Prakhand Panchayat) and zila parishad

Other sources of income are :-

• Tax on sale and purchase of cattle.
• Donations for community works etc.
• Government grants related to various schemes.
• Income from sale of public property like trees etc.
