The Western Disturbances originating from the Mediterranean Sea are the source of Winter Rains in the Northern parts of India.

The western cyclonic disturbances are weather phenomenon of winter months brought in by the Westerly flow from the Mediterranean region.
They influence the weather of northern parts of our country.
