The southern most tip of the Indian union is the Indira point of the Andaman and Nicobar islands in the Indian Ocean. Located 500 kilometers north of the epicenter of the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake, the southernmost tip subsided 4.25 meters after the earthquake, and many of the inhabitants went missing in the tsunami that followed.
