Answers
Answer:
Nagarjunakonda ( Nagarjunikoṇḍa, meaning Nagarjuna Hill) is a historical town, now an island located near Nagarjuna Sagar in Guntur district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, near the state border with Telangana. It is 160 km west of another important historic site Amaravati Stupa.
The ruins of several Mahayana Buddhist and Hindu shrines are located at Nagarjunakonda.
Bones of wild animals dating back to the Mesolithic period (2550-2185 BCE) have been excavated from sites in Langhnaj. These include a canid (probably wolf), mongoose, rhinoceros, wild boar, chital, hog deer, swamp deer, nilgai and blackbuck. The presence of wild cattle has also been suggested. The animals bones at Langhnaj suggest that the area was covered by a combination of savannah and forest with interspersed wetlands. Seven human skeletons and large number of microliths were also recovered.
