Solution:

Specific gravity of petrol  = Specific weight of petrol / Specific weight of water

=> 0.7 =  Specific weight of petrol / Specific weight of water

Specific weight of water  1000 kg/m³

=> 0.7 =  Specific weight of petrol / 1000

=>  Specific weight of petrol  =  700 kg/m³
