A spectrum is a band of seven different colors at a definite proportions it seems to be a white light . when a beam of white light is passed through a glass prism, is called spectrum of white light.

when this spectrum of light undergoes refraction , the colors with the shorter wave length deviates first (being violet )and then the colors with longer wave length deviates last (being red).
