d=20*(1/2) (30 minutes=1/2 hour)

30=r*1 (60 minutes=1 hour)

total distance=rate*total time

total distance=10 km+30 km=40 km

total time=(1/2) hour+1 hour=1 1/2 hours or 1.5 hours

40=rate*1.5

rate=40/1.5

rate=400/15

rate=80/3 (you don't have to simplify if you don't want to)
