what is the sperm what its functions


sriharini04: Answer:The role of the sperm cell is to fertlise the egg cell. One adaptation of the sperm cell is that it has a tail which helps it to swim to the egg cell. The sperm cell also has a nucleus which contains genetic material for fertilisation. The sperm cell also has an acrosomes which contains enzymes so that the sperm can get into the egg. Finally the sperm cell has many mitochondria , which produce energy for movement towards the egg.
