The standard meridian of Pakistan is UTC/GMT+05:00 hours ahead of Greenwich time. Before independence in 1947 India and Pakistan were using UTC+05:30 hours ahead of Greenwich time but after independence in 1951 Pakistan made two times UTC+05:00 for west Pakistan and UTC+06:00 hours for East Pakistan which is now Bangladesh.
