The kidneys are the vital organs and are associated with the excretion function. They are associated with removal of excess waste matter, water, substances like potassium, sodium and phosphorus in the form of urine and purify the blood. They also help in maintaining normal blood pressure and red blood cells in the blood.
There are two bean-shaped kidneys located on either side of the body along the spine. Each kidney consists of tiny millions of nephrons that is the basic functioning unit. Each nephron has two parts A) Glomerulus wherein the actual filtration process is carried out and B) Renal Tubule which carried the water, waste and mineral substances during filtration process.
