Answer:

In the structure of amino acid there is a central carbon which is surrounded by hydrogen atom(H), alkyl group(R), carbonyl group(COOH) and amino group(NH2).

In the structure of alanine(C3H7NO2) there is a central carbon attached with a hydrogen atom(H), methyl(CH3), amino acid(NH2) and carbonyl group(COOH).

The structure of amino acid and alanine is given in the attachment.

Answer:

Amino Acids are the organic compounds which combine to form proteins. They are, therefore, referred to as the building components of proteins. These biomolecules are known to be involved in several biological and chemical functions in the human body. They are very important ingredients for the growth and development of human beings.

An amino acid is an organic molecule that is made up of a basic amino group (−NH2), an acidic carboxyl group (−COOH), and an organic R group (or side chain) that is unique to each amino acid. The term amino acid is short for α-amino [alpha-amino] carboxylic acid.
