The Parliament of India is the supreme legislative body in the country. The parliament of India is a bicameral i.e two housed legislature  and is composed of :

1. President of India : He is the head of the India state and has varied powers with respect to parliament.

2.  Lok Sabha : Lok Sabh is the lower house where the members are directly elected by people and shall consist not more than 545 members. Among them 530 should be elected representatives of people of states and 2 nominated by the President from Anglo-Indian community. Besides not more than 13 members should be elected from Union territories.

3. Raj Sabha : It is the upper house where the members are indirectly elected. It shall not consist more than 250 members and 12 members are being nominated from the President.
