The state of substances changes from solid to liquid and then liquid to gas. The process of Sublimation involves the state change of solid to gas without involving the transformation to liquid state in middle.

This is a chemical process. Dry Ice is one of the famous name which is an example of sublimation chemically. Weather conditions like dry winds, low temperature and minimal humidity supports the process of sublimation.
